The weather in our neck of the woods has finally cooled off and I’m loving every bit of it! We might even need to turn on the heat this week. *jumping up and down with excitement*
The kids are all in school and Fall sports are in full swing. So I’ve started preparing for all our Halloween activities. With three kids in our house, I have to really plan ahead or I’m left scrambling for classroom gifts. I don’t know about your schools, but around here we are not allowed to send “treats” as gifts. So I like to make the packaging really pretty. *LOL*
I decided the best place to start is with some ideas I had for gift tags. I pulled out my new Lawn Fawn Bat add-on and cut out enough to make three bats. I decided to go with the single flat wings for this project (I’ve linked everything below for reference)
First I cut a tag from some Neenah 110lb cardstock in Solar White. It’s pretty much my go-to cardstock for my tags. Next I used some masking sheets to create a moon and evening sky background for my bat. I finished it off with an embossed tag. I added some glitter to the eyes, wings and mouth on the bat for some sparkle … but aside from that it’s a pretty quick tag!
For this next tag I masked off a section to create a spotlight effect on the bat. I blended the Oxide Squeezed Lemonade with Faded Jeans to create the spotlight. All of these tags are splattered with opaque white Copic paint to create the looks of tiny stars in the background. I also adhered some white star sequins for some added depth.
I kept my last tag super basic. Just blended Chipped Saphire, Faded Jeans and Black Soot Distress Inks to create the background. Splattered some of that Copic opaque white paint and added stars. Then I embossed a “happy halloween” sentiment from the Reveal Wheel Holiday Sentiments by Lawn Fawn. I’m not sure which tag I’ll mass produce, it might be a combination of the three.
What do you think? Have you mass produced for a classroom of kids? I’d be curious how other people approach these projects. I try not to make them too detailed, but sometimes I can’t help myself! *laugh* Am I right, peeps?!
Thanks for stopping by today!
