Welcome! Have you had time to pick out all your faves from the July 2019 Essentials by Ellen release? I don’t know about you, but I always enjoy seeing what new Leading Ladies Brandi will come up with for these releases. She has a very distinct, vintage style and it shows in her stamp designs.
This Cooking Lady is no exception! She’s in her backyard with her family living her best life! She’s got kebobs, brats, pasta salad and all the fixings. *laugh* I find it so therapeutic to sit down, stamp these tiny images and die cut them before I even have a card design. I enjoy the process of moving these tiny pieces around to create my card design after I’ve selected my color palette. Sometimes I walk away and come back to my cards. It’s not a race! Enjoy the process.
If you’re ever hung up on what to do with your images, try picking a color palette, coloring the images and die cutting them. The process might spark a design idea for you! Move them around on the card until you find a layout that works for you. Don’t get hung up on having it all figured out right away.
I used masking tape to section off some Neenah Solar White cardstock to create the striped background. You don’t have paper that matches your layout? Make it yourself! Pull out your ink pads, your blending tools and get to work. This is one of my favorite ways to add color to my cards when I don’t have paper that matches! It’s really easy and best of all … FUN!
Thanks for stopping by today, everyone! Hope you’re having a great week.
