The new Essentials by Ellen release for November is out! You’re in for such a treat with this release. There are so many fun dies and images. Today I’m sharing the new Alpine Snowfall Die in a cute square shaker card. The little snowman + sentiment is from the new Snow Buds stamp set that is also part of this release.
The Alpine Snowfall die coordinates with the Alpine Window die, but today I decided to use it with the Stitched Circle frame by Lawn Fawn. I really like using double sided foam sheets for my shakers. It makes assembling them much easier. I can never get foam tape to curve the way I like it for circles and I like the clean white edge created with foam sheets. (hello OCD)
To create the dark sky background, I used my Ranger Blending Tool to color a sheet of white cardstock with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink. I like using my Distress Inks to color paper when I can’t find just the right color paper in my stash.
CRAFTING TIP: If circle scenes aren’t your thing, the Alpine die will easily fit on a square or rectangle card base. You can easily create a shaker card or simple card background using any shape that is 3 inches or more wide using this new die.
For my snowy shaker scenes, I really like the look of a coarse white glitter more than sequins. I wanted to create the look of a pile of powdery snow for this scene. I’m so happy with the way it turned out!
I hope you enjoy this release. Join me tomorrow for another card using this release. Thanks for stopping by today!
