Neighborhood Friends

August 11, 2018

Today I'm using the new Felicity Jane August kit, Jeana for this layout. I love the colors of this kit so much, but I love the gold accents even more. There's just something so elegant about gold on a layout that gets me every time.

For today's layout I decided to document a trip we took to the zoo with one of our neighbors

One of my favorite things to do for my pocket page layouts is to take the bits and pieces of the kit and layer them on a journal card. I took a plain piece of white cardstock and piled it up with a few of my favorite bits and pieces. I started with a black & white tag that's part of the Jeana die cut shapes. I added some gold sparkle twine to it and adhered it to the card. I stapled the top of the twine so that it would drape nicely in the pocket.

Next I took one of the die cut potted succulents and adhered it to the center. Using a glue dot I placed a gold chipboard heart on top. Then I stamped the sentiment "smiling" from the stamp set right below the tag. I added a couple of more staples to the side of the tag and called it good. If you've seen my past scrapbook posts, you know I have a thing for tiny staples. *laugh*

I decided to type the journaling for this layout. I don't know about you, but I really like the clean look of a typed journal card. After I had my journaling all typed up, I added a die cut shape with the sentiment "details" to the top. Then layered it with a scalloped puffy sticker in the same color.

On the two photos I included, I layered some washi tape, die cut shapes, puffy stickers and a chipboard heart. I stamped "just what I needed" on one of the die cut shapes because this outing at the beginning of summer really was just what I needed to kick off summer.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you're enjoying the new Jeana Kit as much as me! *laugh*
