I decided that this Woodsy Lady needed to make a trip to the tropics! Like most card making hobbyists, I have a large collection of the latest and greatest stamp sets. It dawned on me that I don’t always mix my sets, much less my stamp companies. So today I decided to mix my favorite Leading Lady from the Essentials by Ellen collection with Flora & Fauna’s Tropical Vibes set! The scale of these two sets happened to work really well together.
I blended three colors of Distress Oxide inks to create the sunset background on this card using my Ranger Ink blending tool - Wild Honey, Seedless Preserves and Squeezed Lemonade. Using my craft knife, I freehand cut a curve onto some kraft cardstock.
I stamped all my images using Memento ink in Tuxedo Black, it won’t smear with Copic markers. I used the Woodsy Lady matching die set to cut her out. Then I fussy cut the leaves of the Tropical Vibes set and the little parrot. I would suggest Neenah 80lb when you fussy cut small images like these because those tiny little images can be SUPER frustrating with heavier cardstock.
I used my Glaze Pen in white for shading on the leaves. I cannot express enough how much I love these pens. Seriously, I own FOUR! They are really opaque and go on smoothly. They look so nice when used in this way over Copic markers.
Once everything was colored, I pieced it all together in layers. I used Tombow Mono liquid glue to attach my images. I really like how it all came together.
Happy Saturday, peeps!
