The new INNER MERMAID clear stamp set from the Essentials by Ellen line is so lovely. The images and punny sentiments are pretty cute - CLICK HERE TO SEE THE FULL SET. I found the matching DIES to be really helpful for this set because the images have lots of tricky curves and the starfish are kind of small.
The first thing I did is cut a sheet of 110lb Neenah Solar White cardstock into fourths. Then I used the Lawn Fawn Large Stacked Rectangle Dies to cut the background image. I used my Ranger Ink blending tools to blend some Spiced Marmalade and Squeezed Lemonade together to create a sunset. I started in the middle of the card with the Squeezed Lemonade and then worked the Spiced Marmalade around it. It helps to go over the darker color with the lighter color to get a good transition between the colors.
Next I blended Peacock Feathers and Twisted Citron on a rectangle I cute using the Lawn Fawn Large Stacked Rectangle dies. I used the same technique for this as I did with the sunset. Started with the lighter color and worked in the darker color. Next I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside border to create a background wave. Then I turned one of the Lawn Fawn Puffy Clouds borders upside down and cut it to create peaked waves! (I know, so clever! *laugh*)
I stamped the images using VersaMark embossing ink and embossed them using some gold embossing powder. Colored them with Copic markers (colors noted below) and attached them to the card. I used some foam sheets to cut out the mermaid tail and give it a little depth. The waves are attached using foam tape to add even more depth. I finished off the card by gold embossing the sentiment and adding some sequins.
