The Essentials by Ellen January release is finally here! For this release Brandi Kincaid is adding to her line of stamps with a Little Lady and Leading Gentlemen. It’s really exciting to watch this line of stamps grow to include other family members. EEP!
For today’s post I’m showing you a card I made using the Little Lady stamp set and dies. She is just the cutest and totally reminds me of my little girl. She’s a teenager now, but there was a time when I’d be able to convince her to wear pigtails. *laugh*
The first thing I did was stamp the images of the Little Lady and a few of her accessories. I colored them with Copic markers and then die cut them.
Next I took my Altenew Halftone stencil, my blending brush and some Catherine Pooler ink to create the background. This is my first time using Catherine Pooler inks with a blending brush, I typically use Distress Inks for my stencils. I was pleasantly surprised with the coverage this ink has when blending it with a brush. I went light at first and then layered on color slowly.
Once the background was done, I used my Misti and Versaclair black ink to stamp the sentiment. Before attaching the Little Lady I used some detailed scissors and cut the top of her little hand a little. Then I put the banner in her hand before gluing her in place. Then I stamped the sentiment “hooray” on the banner.
STAMPING TIP: This is probably obvious, but stamp the banner prior to putting it in place. I almost got that green ink on the card base several times trying to stamp it. Rookie move! LOL!
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope your new year is off to a great start!
