For today's card I decided to try a little watercoloring on the Mermaid tail. I used the Versafine Clair ink because it works great with watercoloring. Doesn't smear at all and leaves a really great ink impression. If you don't have Peerless Watercolors, you need them!! They last FOREVER and the colors are really vivid. So I stamped the mermaid tail on some cold press watercolor paper and colored it in with the Peerless watercolors. I let the watercolor dry completely and then covered it with Nuvo Shimmer. I used some detail scissors and cut up to the edge of the image.
I used the Lawn Fawn stitched hillside die on some 110lb Neenah Solar White cardstock for the top and bottom portion of the card. Then I blended some Distress Oxide ink and blended it. To create an underwater look I splashed the Oxide with some water.
I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Clair in Twilight and then adhered the mermaid tail and white wavy sections of the card. I added a few sequins and Pretty Pink Posh jewels. I really like the contrast of the vivid mermaid tail colors against the bright white background!
So ... always be yourself, unless you can be a mermaid. Then always be a mermaid. *giggle* Hope you like the card. Thanks for stopping by today!
