Happy Mother's Day to all my fellow mamas! Today is the first day of the Ellen Hutson shop Mother's Day sale where you can receive 20% off everything in the shop. (discount code below) I thought I'd show you a project I made using the Parcel Box die, Block words die and the Plaid Maker stamp set. This is a quick and simple project. If you've been on the fence about purchasing the new May release, now is a great time to buy them at a great discount!
I started this project by using the Plaid Maker to make the outside of the Parcel Box. This gift card is for one of the male assistant coach's on my daughter's ultimate frisbee team. So I wanted a masculine look. I used blue, gray and black ink for the plaid pattern. I started with the solid blocks first. Layered in the gray hatched squares and finished off with the black dashed line. I used my large grid clear block and eyeballed the placement of these stamped images.
Next I used the Block Words die set to cut out the sentiment "great job" from black cardstock. I adhered the sentiment to the front of the box and colored the letters with a Nuvo glitter pen. I really like using that brush pen for adding sparkle to images and die cut sentiments. It packs quite the punch of sparkle! These photos don't do the sparkle justice, it's hard to capture in a photo.
As a finishing touch I added a few sequins. I wanted to bling out the outside of the box. *laugh* Then I added the gift card to the interior of the parcel box and sealed it. Easy peasy!
