For today’s blog post I’m sharing another super simple card using the newest release from Essentials by Ellen. I know we’re currently in the throws of Christmas, but it’s time to start planning for Valentine’s Day!
This card started with a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock that I cut down to 4” x 5-1/4”. I used my Ranger Ink blending tool to create this ombre background. The Oxide Distress inks work great for these large surfaces because they go on so smoothly.
I used the same colors for this background that I used on my gift tag yesterday. (Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick & Spun Sugar) Once the background was completed, I used the Tic Tac Toe die at an angle. I ran it through my Big Shot. I really love the way this die delicately cuts the pattern into the paper. It’s really pretty up close.
The rest of this card came together very quickly. That ombre background is the fussiest part. I cut the “x’s” and the heart from the Confetti Kisses die and brushed them with my Aqua Shimmer pen. I adhered them with some foam tape to add a little dimension.
Next I grabbed a piece of Eclipse Tape to use as a straight edge at the top of the card. I angled it in the same direction as the pattern and created a sentiment using the Large Letterboard Alpha + Letterboard Script 2. I carefully adhered them in place.
TIP: Place a sheet of Stick It Adhesive on the back of your cardstock so you don’t have to fuss with glue. The alphas & script lettering are delicate and can be hard to work with if you use glue.
As a finishing touch I colored one of the confetti lip pieces red and covered it with some Glossy Accents. I think it adds a nice pop of color! The panel was then adhered to the front of a white card. Quick and simple!
Thanks for stopping by today!
