Moving right along to Day 2! Another photo where I intentionally took a photo with space for telling my story. I knew I’d be home all day today and that I wanted it to be about relaxing. There will be plenty of busy weekends this month. I wanted to document the calmness of today.
My daughter is a competitive swimmer and on this day she headed out before sunrise with my husband for a swim meet. I took a quick picture of her before she left for the day. I usually go with her to her swim meets, but this weekend it was her dad’s turn to see her in action. She’s at that tough age for pictures. She’ll do a hundred selfies with friends but if mom tries to get a picture … well that’s a whole other story! *laugh*
I stayed home recovering from my cold and letting my boys enjoy a relaxing day at home playing with their toys. They enjoy an occasional weekend of pajamas and relaxation.
I used the cup of coffee as my spot to write my story. Nothing too detailed, just some highlights about the day. I am working hard to try to journal in my album instead of just trying to let the photos tell the entire story. I think it’s great when my photos tell the story, but sometimes it’s nice to add the details in written form.
Crate Paper’s Merry Days line is popping up all over Instagram and for good reason. The images are playful and the colors are beautiful. It’s my favorite holiday release so far and I’m loving integrating it into my album.
The number on this layout and the tiny chipboard star are from this year’s December Daily release by Ali Edwards. I didn’t buy any of her kits, just a few embellishments that I really liked. Lots of chipboard stars! *laugh*
So far I’ve been doing two page layouts for December Daily, but that will change from day to day depending on my stories. Since I’m just winging it this year, the options are endless. I’m just letting my free time, my stories and my inspiration level dictate my layouts. So far I’m happy with how this process is unfolding.
Happy Crafting, friends!
