“Lost your mittens? You naughty kittens!” … mittens always conjure up that nursery rhyme by Mother Goose for me. It’s been stuck in my head since I started creating with this new release. Now it’s in yours! *laugh*
For today’s project I brought out the Plaid Maker stamp set to create a black and white pattern for the new Pop-Up Mittens die set. I really like using the Plaid Maker stamp set to create black and white patterns. (If you take a look at past blog posts, you’ll see several fun examples of how I used this set.)
Once I created my patterned background, I die cut the mittens. Then I adhered cut a piece of black cardstock to 4”x5.25”. I die cut the mittens again, except this time I angled them slightly. I stamped the sentiment using some Versamark ink and embossed it in white. I then adhered the black cardstock onto my white card base with some foam tape, making sure it was centered.
Once the black cardstock was in place, I carefully adhered the printed mittens in the opening. I added some wood stars from my stash to the card front. I’ve had these stars in my stash for ages, I’ve linked some other great options below. I don’t think these are available anymore. *laugh* I’m happy to finally be using them!
Come back tomorrow for more details on another card I shared last week on my Instagram feed! Thanks for stopping by today.
