Welcome to the Holiday Inspiration party with Essentials by Ellen and My Favorite Things! Today I’m sharing two projects pairing the October releases from MFT and EBE.
For my first project I’m sharing a card using the Lil’ Squatch paired with the Classic Snow Globe. I die cut the globe first and then die cut it again with the star trail. Then I colored the globe with Distress Inks. I die cut the globe from some iridescent glitter paper and adhered it to the back of the colored background. I really like how it makes the tiny stars shimmer.
The background of the card is stenciled with Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide ink on a white piece of cardstock. I finished it off with some natural burlap twine and a simple sentiment from the Lil’ Squatch stamp set.
I have a small stash of 3”x5.5” brown paper bags. I use them for small treats for neighbors or teachers during the holidays. I punched a hole in the top of this bag and tied some twine around it. I attached the MFT Stitched Tiny Tag, the MFT Elfin’ Around hat die and some holly from the EBE Sew Cute - Snowman. The sentiment is stamped in Cherry Kisses and it’s from the MFT Merry Moments stamp set. This combo makes for a festive holiday gift bag!
TIP: I used paper from a summer themed paper pad for this project. Look for paper pads that offer colors that work for a variety of occasions. The Oh Summertime paper pad has some really great patterned paper options that work for a variety of occasions! There’s some mermaid scale patterned paper that would be great with the EBE Inner Mermaid stamp set.
Thanks for stopping by today for a little inspiration! Happy Holidays! (is it too soon for that? *laugh*)
